Branding, Communications Plan

The approach

As one of the first cities in the state to launch a community choice aggregation (CCA), the City of Lancaster had the unique task of not only introducing the new concept to residents and businesses but why using the newly formed Lancaster Choice Energy was the better choice for their energy needs.

The opportunity

JPW Communications was involved in the launch of Lancaster’s CCA from its onset, including the development of several nomenclature ideas, tagline options and full brand development, which is still in use today. In addition to the logo development, JPW Communications wrote and designed all collateral materials, including fact sheets, postcard notifications, advertisements, billboard, and signage, to support the launch of LCE in the community. In 2019, JPW Communications developed a fully integrated marketing and communications plan to help further the CCA’s success.

The solution

  • Brand development

  • Collateral design and production

  • Copywriting

  • Marketing campaign development

  • Message development

  • Campaign creative

The reward

Lancaster Choice Energy began providing power to municipal accounts in May of 2015 with broad public enrollment beginning in October 2015. Today, Lancaster Choice Energy is nearing its lofty goal of net-zero and its heralded as a pioneer in the CCA space. Because of its successful work with Lancaster Choice Energy, JPW was hired to develop the brand for San Jacinto Power and the California Choice Energy Authority. JPW also handled collateral development for the Rancho Mirage Energy Authority, Pico Rivera Innovative Municipal Energy and Solana Energy Alliance.
