Marissa Aymar is a dedicated financial enthusiast with a passion for animals and travel. Known for her love of spreadsheets, Marissa brings many years of experience in the private sector to her role at JPW as senior director of finance and operations.
"The numbers tell a story, and it is my job to translate the numbers into a meaningful one that can drive the business forward. Whether I am building a forecast to look at the future or a new performance report to look at the past, I always love pulling the meaning out of the numbers."
Get to know Marissa
Her fascination with finance took root at a young age when collecting money during holidays became an opportunity to see how much she could save. The holidays established the beginning of her love for financial management. As time passed, her understanding of finance grew from saving money to furthering her education to explore financial strategies.
Marissa received her bachelor’s in business administration from San Diego State University. She spent the first 10 years of her career in banking, where she developed a love for SOPs and a knack for client service.
Marissa then worked at a tech startup in Austin, Texas, where she had her first experience working for a smaller company, allowing her to wear many hats and see her true impact. Marissa returned to her San Diego roots to work for Lohman & Associates, a professional services firm supporting various early-stage companies as they positioned for growth. It was during her tenure at Lohman & Associates that Marissa was first introduced to JPW.
In 2022, Marissa began working for JPW as a financial controller. Since then, her role has quickly expanded as she has taken on additional responsibilities, extending her reach to include a full spectrum of business operations.
Marissa resides in San Diego with her fiancé and their dog and cat. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts and hiking California's beautiful trails.
