JPW presents 2024 Savvy Award to Glendora City Council following their brand launch

BY BAYLEE AKINS

At the September 2024 3CMA conference in Arlington, Texas, JPW client City of Glendora won the prestigious Savvy Award for Graphic Design Art for their newly launched brand. JPW had the pleasure of accepting the award on behalf of the city.

The annual 3CMA conference is presented by the City-County Communications and Marketing Association, and their Savvy Awards have represented the best in government communications for more than 30 years.

The conference judges shared the following sentiments about the new brand.

“The research and background information provided to explain the new branding is fabulous. The graphic design strikes a balance between masculine and feminine, appealing to a broad audience while having a fresh and dynamic feel.”

On Oct. 22, 2024, JPW was honored to present this award to Glendora City Council. Senior Marketing and Communications Manager Baylee Akins and Senior Multimedia Designer Molly Schellenger represented team JPW at the council meeting.

“What set this rebrand apart was the incredible opportunity and history already existing within the fabric of the community, coupled with the city staff and council who were all ready to embrace change,” said Akins.

Having stood before City Council earlier in the calendar year for approval of the new brand, JPW sharing the well-deserved national recognition for the city’s hard work was a memorable way to bookend the partnership.

“Branding projects demand the courage to explore new creative avenues, and throughout this project we were struck by city staff’s openness to change and their incisive feedback,” said Schellenger. “Their commitment led to a brand that today reflects the authentic spirit of their community, and it was an honor to be a part of that collaboration.”
