AI in the wild: What’s catching our eyes

BY MOLLY SCHELLENGER

AI is transforming the way we interact with the world, and we’re loving the creative ways it’s being used in marketing and product design. From personalized playlists to custom sneakers, here are a few ways AI is catching our eyes.

Have you discovered any cool new music artists recently? You can probably thank Spotify’s AI-driven recommendation algorithms for that. Using collaborative filtering AI, Spotify tailors suggestions by analyzing users' listening preferences, and then combines that with content-based filtering, which recognizes audio characteristics. This dynamic duo makes sure listeners get music they’ll be playing on repeat. A new office playlist to ring in the New Year sounds like music to our ears!

Although not yet sponsored, a member of our team’s tireless work ethic is brought to us daily by Coca-Cola. This might be why we are especially impressed with Coke's recent YK3000 drink that was co-created with AI. In this campaign, AI was used to assess consumer flavor preferences and simulate different ingredient combinations, resulting in the creation of the YK3000 beverage. But Coca-Cola didn’t stop there—they took it a step further by incorporating AI into the product’s marketing launch. Users could upload imagery, which was then augmented by AI to mirror the futuristic visuals associated with the YK3000 brand. Talk about a taste of the future!

Last, but certainly not least, is Nike’s ongoing ‘Nike By You’ campaign, where AI lets customers become their own designers. With visual recognition AI and AI-driven rendering, customers are empowered to customize their products in real time. The AI evaluates their design choices, interprets preferences, and renders unique shoe compositions, making the experience as personalized as it gets. AI created to help people design their dream fit must be a step in the right direction!

We know that AI can feel a little intimidating at times, but we’re embracing the ways it’s driving innovation. From personalized experiences to creative possibilities, we’re excited to explore how AI can enhance what we do and help us connect in new ways.
